Join Central New Mexico SHRM for an engaging and interactive workshop designed to transform the way you approach networking. Connect with Confidence: The Science and Art of Networking combines practical strategies with real-world application to help professionals create meaningful and effective connections with intention.
Moving beyond traditional networking advice, this session explores both the science behind relationship-building—why genuine connection matters and how it contributes to professional success—and the art of putting those insights into practice. Participants will learn techniques they can immediately use at networking events, within their organizations, and throughout their careers.
Designed for all professionals—not just HR, this workshop emphasizes quality over quantity and focuses on developing authentic, lasting professional relationships rather than superficial interactions. Participants will leave with greater confidence, a personalized approach to networking, and tools for intentionally expanding their professional influence.
Learning Objectives:
- Identify the psychological and relational science behind personal connection and understand why genuine connection can outperform transactional networking.
- Map an existing professional network to identify strengths, gaps, and priority areas for future relationship-building.
- Apply at least three practical conversation techniques for starting, deepening, and following up on professional relationships.
- Develop a personalized networking approach aligned with individual goals, industry, and communication style.
- Create a simple action plan to extend your network and expand your professional influence within 30 days.
About the Speaker:
